67-year-old fatally hit by car on Saipan

Over on Saipan, a 67-year-old man is dead after a car hit him early Monday morning on Chalan Pale Arnold road in Gualo Rai village. 

CNMI police received the call at 5:52 a.m. Monday after a red Toyota SUV driven by a 66-year-old female collided with the elderly man who was pronounced dead at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation just after 6 a.m.

The driver told local authorities that she saw the pedestrian walking across the street while driving on the inner lane and hit him while she was switching lanes.

The case remains under investigation.
