The Guam National Weather Service announced that Invest 98W was upgraded to a Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center overnight. Experts say this means 98W could become a tropical depression later today.

98W continues on a track toward the Marianas and may pass through the region Tuesday and/or Wednesday.
