CNMI Gov. Arnold Palacios and a local delegation are back on Saipan from their week-long trip to Taiwan.

The trip, which was fully funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) comes after months of the governor saying he is pivoting away from the China market.

Palacios now invites foreign investment and cooperative agreements to diversify CNMI’s tourism market. He also met with government officials and business leaders in technology, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.

Palacios visited Taiwan with Edmund Villagomez, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Donald Manglona, Senate Vice President; Rep. John Paul Sablan, Chairman of the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation; Rep. Angelo Camacho, Chair of the Natural Resources Committee; and Chris Concepcion, MVA Managing Director.

KUAM News has requested an interview or press conference with the administration to discuss the sponsored trip.
