The Ukudu power plant is not the only big, new major construction project slated for that area of Dededo.

The Guam Hybrid Land Use Commission (GHLUC) has approved a zone variance for two 20-story, 204-feet high condominium buildings to be known as Eiger tower.

The developer is Maui Development LLC, and was represented at the GHLUC meeting by W.B. Flores and associates.

They were approved for a height variance of 174 feet above the maximum allowed in the M-1 light industrial zone.

The 335 multi-family development will include 2, 3, and 4-bedroom units.

According to planning documents presented to commissioners, the complex will also contain a pair of basketball and tennis courts, and a swimming pool.

Dededo Mayor and GHLUC member Melissa Savares says three public meetings were held in Dededo on the project.
