After less than a day of deliberations, a jury found 30 year old Ray Flores Jr. guilty of strangulation as a third degree felony and assault as a misdemeanor.
A media release from the Office of the Attorney General states Flores was also found guilty of commission of a felony while on felony release.
Prosecutors want Flores to receive the maximum sentence of 29 years in prison.
Flores and his co-defendant Anselmo Jose Untalan were indicted on kidnapping charges after the duo allegedly forced a man into a car in Chalan Pago at gunpoint, threatening to shoot.
The victim told authorities Flores also assaulted him and used a tie to strangle him before he eventually escaped.
