The CNMI Department of Public Safety released the results of the official autopsy for the double homicide case on Saipan.

The autopsy confirmed that 57-year-old Jindong Wang and 52-year-old Liu Shuping died due to blunt force trauma to the head. A motive is still being determined by local investigators who say they have identified more than one person of interest. The longtime residents of Saipan were found in their Fina Sisu apartment building last Thursday. Wang was found dead in a pool of blood and Liu passed away at the Saipan hospital on Monday.

Local police held a press conference yesterday. CNMI DPS spokesperson Sgt. Fred Sato said, “As we continue with the investigation, we plead to our community if they have any information and would like to remain anonymous they can always call our Crime Stoppers at 670-234-7272. We are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that may lead to an arrest.”

KUAM also learned that Liu Shuping was a student at Northern Marianas College on Saipan. NMC President Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero sent a message to the campus community today. He said, “I ask our Proa Tribe to take some time today to observe a moment of silence to honor the memory of our fellow Proa and the others that are involved in this senseless tragedy.”

He added, “In the aftermath of this heartbreaking incident, our counselors and administrators will be working closely with the CHCC Community Guidance Center to offer counseling services to students and employees who may need access to them.  I urge students to reach out to advisors or counselors if you need help, guidance, or just someone to talk to. We are here to help and support each other during this difficult time.”
