While Muzik Guam Bar Manager Christopher Calvo is all smiles now, he was upset to find the local karaoke bar broken into a few days ago.

The bar manager left with no choice but to use duct tape to repair the damages. Calvo shared how he felt about the incident.

“First of all, shocked of course. Normally we have roaming security that were supposed to…But we were the ones that found out. Of course we were kind of mad,” he said.

The break-in happened around 4 a.m. Sunday, just two hours after Calvo closed up shop. When he clocked in for his next shift, he was shocked to find a broken door lock.

Calvo explained, “He just managed to break the lock. we got a guard now.”

Inside, there were obvious signs a thief found what he was looking for.

“He went through our dart machine, got into our pool table as well as our till. Roughly about $400 [was stolen],” he said.

The early morning burglary was caught on camera.

Calvo shared a video of a masked individual slowly coming out of the elevator of the East West building in Upper Tumon. The burglar was seen canvassing the area before getting ready to break in.

"There, see he’s putting on gloves,” Calvo said. He also noted that it was a quick hit and that the burglar in and out in under 30 minutes.

The thief only got his hands on a few hundred dollars of cash. And the damages are nothing some duct tape and good cheer couldn’t fix.

“From the way it looked, he had tools and jammed a crowbar to get it open. You can see some of the damages left behind. But we did our best to repair it to get back into business the next day,” Calvo said.

The karaoke bar opened the next day and it was back to business as usual.

Now, Calvo is asking the community to be on the lookout.

“I just want to put the message out there that there’s this guy out there. If his mannerisms in the security footage help pinpoint, it would be greatly appreciated,” he said.

He also sends a warning to other establishments to secure their shops.

“I know it’s the new year but just be on the lookout and be safe out there. Especially to my fellow bar managers and to all the other bar owners, please just watch out if they’re out and about still,” Calvo said.

If you have any information on this break in, you’re asked to call it in to Guam police.
