The CNMI Department of Public Safety revealed new details of the allegations against a Marianas High School teacher who resigned following reports of “inappropriate conduct” with a student.

In response to KUAM News, CNMI DPS said that police received a call on January 09 at 12:54 p.m. about the Sexual Assault of a Minor at Marianas High School in Susupe.

Officers arrived on campus just after 1 p.m. to meet with the school principal.

It was then that officers learned that a faculty member was seen kissing a student on campus.

DPS said in a press release, “The incident is currently under investigation. No arrest has been made yet. DYS was also on the scene due to the victim being a minor child.”

The CNMI Public School System has not named the staff or detailed the incident.

This is a developing story.
