Guam-CNMI ESGR convene on Saipan

The Guam-CNMI Employer Support of the Guard and Army Reserve State Committee recently convened on Saipan for their “Lunch with the Boss” event.
Guam-CNMI State Chair Cathy Gogue took on the position in October. She told KUAM News, “We as the ESGR state committee, what we try to do is be that impartial mediator. We are here for the employers and we are here for the service members. So we are just here to mediate if there are any problems that they may have regarding [The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994] that is what we are here for as the committee.”

LTC Agata Zana, West and Northeast Region ESGR Chief, traveled from the ESGR headquarters in Washington D.C. for her first site visit to the Marianas.
She said, “This is a very strategically important location and one of our missions is to support employers, to support service members in understanding their rights and responsibilities to each other, to help mediate any conflicts or misunderstandings…”
Zana said they also seek to recognize supportive employers. She added, “It is all based on relationships…I see the committee has a lot of strengths here. Everybody is so deeply embedded in their communities.”
