Man gets five years for smuggling drugs into prison
A man who admitted to his part in a scheme to smuggle drugs into the prison was sentenced to five years.
Francisco Garrido Jr., who pleaded no contest to complicity to possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver, learned his fate before Judge John Terlaje in Superior Court today.
As KUAM reported, the case surfaced in 2020 and involved two others including a Department of Corrections (DOC) officer.
Garrido told authorities an inmate asked him to deliver marijuana when officers intercepted the items and also found meth.
In court today, Garrido apologized for trying to help people.
