Complaint: Ex-real estate worker stole $15K from clients

A woman who previously worked at a local real estate company is under arrest accused of stealing $15,148.27 from two of the company’s clients.
Hanneaka Therese McDonald, 28, is charged with theft of property held in trust.
The alleged theft occurred between Oct. 1, 2023 and Feb. 12 of this year.
According to court documents, the victim told police they found out McDonald had been stealing cash directly from tenants.
McDonald also allegedly falsified invoice amounts, voided other cash receipts cut by other bookkeepers, and rewrote new receipts.
The defendant was serving as acting accounting supervisor for the company at the time, documents state.
McDonald allegedly denied the theft and told police she had worked for the company for three years.
