Feds want ex-cop to serve 22 years in prison for drug trafficking

A former Guam Police Department officer is scheduled to learn his fate in the District Court of Guam this week.
Jose Pablo Ananich, who admitted to illegal drugs and weapons possession charges in 2021, will be sentenced on Wednesday.
Federal prosecutors want Ananich to serve 17-and-a-half years followed by five additional years for the crime.
On July 1, 2021, he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of conspiracy to distribute 50 or more grams of methamphetamine, attempted possession of meth with intent to distribute, and carrying of firearms in commission of a drug trafficking crime.
The scheme involved Andrew Manibusan, who is serving time for his part in mailing eight pounds of meth from California to Guam.
Investigators intercepted the drugs back in May 2021 and tracked it to Ananich.
