A suspect being chased after by Naval Base Guam Security Forces prompted a scare at the military base.
Officials confirm there was no active shooter incident.
At 9:03 a.m., Security Forces conducted a traffic stop at ,the intersection of Chapel Road on U.S. Naval Base Guam.
Authorities said the subject fled the scene and NBG Security forces chased after them.
The suspect was stopped near the NBG Main Gate and taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
The military adds the main gate remains closed due to the ongoing investigation.
The back gate will remain open for inbound and outbound traffic until access to the main gate is restored.
“There is no active shooter situation and the base is not on lockdown,” the Navy stated.
