Woman injured in early morning fire in Dededo

An elderly woman is taken to the Guam Regional Medical City to be treated for minor injuries after she was injured while trying to escape a burning structure.

First responders arrived at Chalan Fago in Dededo at 6:02 am where they found a wood and tin home covered in flames, according to Guam Fire Department Spokesperson Lt. Nick Garrido.

It was put out within 20 minutes.

The woman along with an elderly man were the only ones inside the home at the time of the fire.

The man was not injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
