Landowners along the boundaries of Andersen Air Force Base in Yigo are being given notice and time to provide public comment.

This comes after the Department of Defense Missile Defense Agency notified the administration on a proposed final environmental assessment and proposed finding of no significant impact to conduct up to two flight tests or tracking exercises.

This is expected to begin in Fiscal Year 2025 and continue annually over a ten year period.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Department will request select landowners on the boundaries of Andersen to agree to remain away from their private properties during test events to ensure their safety.

The feds said these activities are to validate the interoperability of multiple sensors and interceptor systems of a missile defense system being developed to protect Guam.

Starting today through July 2, the Defense Agency published both proposals.

The public is given the next 30 days to comment.
