Three arrested in connection to car gas tank drillings

Three people have been arrested in connection to 27 complaints of car gas tank drillings.
On Monday June 24th, Guam Police Department officers with the Dededo Precinct Command received a theft of property complaint at a home along Chalan Ibang in Dededo.
Video footage depicting a possible suspect and a blue Honda CRV led them to 25 year old Sabino Jay Auyuyu who matched the suspect’s description and had the stolen items.
Ayuyu gave officers information about two other individuals involved and their possible whereabouts.
Later that day, police got another criminal mischief complaint from a home in Machanao, Dededo where the victim’s car’s fuel tank was drilled by unknown individuals with the fuel completely drained from the tank.
Video footage in a neighboring establishment revealed a blue Honda CRV leaving the area.
The next day, officers were able to locate the car that was depicted in both theft complaints at a home in Astumbo, Dededo and two male individuals were taken into custody.
Officers learned 20-year-old Jeremiah Unchangco and 51-year-old Christopher A. Unchangco were responsible for twenty-seven Criminal Mischief to vehicle complaints by way of drilling fuel tanks.
Jeremiah Unchangco and Christopher A. Unchangco were arrested for Criminal Mischief, Theft of Property, Burglary, Theft of Life Stock, Conspiracy, Guilt Establish by Complicity and Criminal Facilitation.
Meantime, Ayuyu was arrested for Theft of Property, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief and Resisting Arrest.
All three men were booked and confined at the Department of Corrections.
This case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution. This case also remains open as investigating officers from the Dededo Precinct Command to include detectives from GPD’S Criminal Investigation Division continue to research other complaints that are similar in nature.
