Guam is home to many treasures, and among them lies our Greatest Generation. The many still with us, sharing their experiences, memories, and stories 80 years after the island’s liberation at the Legislature today.

Senators presenting a resolution in recognition of War Survivor’s Remembrance Day , a time to honor the resilience and courage of every survivor of Huam’s wartime atrocities.

KUAM getting to speak with these brave men and women, among them Ignacia and Otto Siguenza of Yigo, who were 6 and 2 years old at the time. Ignacia said,  “We moved up to Fena with my brother, and then after that, we moved to Manenggon.” Otto continued, "It was so difficult. My dad passed away during the Japanese time–so it was only my mother who was raising us now.”

The Siguenzas were joined by their daughter to witness their recognition.

We here at KUAM honor and remember our greatest generation today and always.
