Trial to begin for mother charged in baby's death
A mother accused in the death of her one-year-old baby boy is headed to trial this week.
Jury selection for defendant Giltinan Ramangmou is set to begin wednesday before Judge Vernon Perez in superior court.
Ramangmou has since denied the charges of murder, aggravated assault, and child abuse filed against her.
The murder case unfolded at the couple's Dededo home last november.
Prosecutors allege Ramangmou initially claimed the child's injuries were caused by an accidental fall.
Co-defendant Paul John Cruz later told investigators that Ramangmou allegedly punched the child.
DNA evidence was sent to the FBI for testing.
Investigators said the child died from Battered Baby Syndrome.
Trial is set to begin on July 17th.
