“‘B’ was a father, loving partner, a brother, and a friend,” said Father Duenas Memorial School Alumni Association President, Eddie Pelkey.
That’s how the late Brandon Duenas from FD’s Class of 2007 is remembered.
Loved ones identified Duenas as the man who lost his life in the car crash early Saturday morning in Barrigada.
FDMSAA President and retired FD basketball coach Eddie Pelkey described Duenas as humble, respectful and selfless.
He said Duenas was a great sportsman but loved basketball the most but more than sports and his beloved alma mater, he loved his son Kandon, an incoming junior at FD, and fiancée Regine.
Friends say Duenas was coming from a basketball tournament with his fellow friars the night prior.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Guam Police Department said Duenas was traveling north on Route 10 in Barrigada when he lost control of his car and hit a concrete pole and fence.
He was thrown from his car and landed on the road.
Investigators said another car struck him and fled the scene.
Authorities are now asking the community for help.
Witnesses or anyone with any information are asked to call police at (671) 475-8615 through 8617.
Meanwhile, authorities are also investigating a separate deadly crash that took place just hours before in Dededo.
Police said the driver lost control of his car and hit a concrete pole.
Guam Fire Department crews used the jaws of life to extract him from his car.
He later died at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and the cause of death has yet to be determined by a medical examiner.
