W.A.V.E. stands for Welcome All Visitors Enthusiastically!

Donna Muna Quinata, Chair of the Tourism Education Council,  said it was first created in 1988.

“The senators that introduced it were Don Parkinson, Sonny Shelton, Joe T. San Agustin and now their children are in the legislature now. You’ve got 30 years of history,” said Quinata.

The Guam Wave Club is focused on helping the young generation develop a deep care for Guam and  a profound awareness of the positive impact of the tourism industry in our community.

“It’s not only the academic portion but what they can do after school with the extracurricular activities and what better way to put all our kids together is through music and that’s why it is so important we have this music festival,” she added.

An impactful event to benefit the Wave Club and have the public celebrate the culture and Music of Micronesia is less than two days away.

Valley of the Latte is hosting the Micronesia Music Festival ‘Rhythm by the River’ this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“To have one venue to not just get a certain group of people but all our islanders…we are all Micronesians. All of our music is going to be portrayed down at that music festival,” she said.

A lineup of local talent is set to take the stage.

It's an event for the entire family to enjoy.

The Wave Club will also be selling these t-shirts, the image is of their latest project you can also view now at the CHamoru Village in Hagatna.

“It’s a beautiful mural and we were blessed to do this so that we can welcome…what is says is hafa adai in everybody’s language on the Micronesia,” she said.
