It's good news for the Home of the Geckos!

George Washington High School has officially passed Public Health inspection.

This means GW students are set to return to their Mangilao campus tomorrow, Aug. 30.

As KUAM previously reported, the Governor’s SORT composed of the Department of Labor, PBS, and the University of Guam were at the central school, aiding school faculty and staff and volunteers with bringing the campus up to code.

Education officials held a briefing to announce the news.

“GW High School students, be prepared to come to class tomorrow. Your school is opening! Congratulations to all involved in the GW preparations and getting them ready for site inspection and passing–from the administrators to the staff, to the teachers—to the SORT team, to all the volunteers that have come to that school to support,” said Guam Education Board Vice-Chair Angel Sablan.

Official sanitary reports are pending for Jose Rios Middle School and both Finegayan and P.C. Lujan Elementary Schools. This brings the tally for campuses awaiting Public Health inspections down to eight.

Meantime, Benavente Middle School, D.L. Perez, Upi, and Price Elementary Schools are next in line for inspections while work is still underway at Southern High School.
