Man indicted in police standoff
The man who threatened to kill an employee at a bank last month is indicted by a Superior Court grand jury.
Thirty-eight-year-old Joseph Atalig is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment.
He appeared before Magistrate Judge Benjamin Sison today but, Atalig will have to wait until Sept. 12 to answer to the charges.
As KUAM reported, the defendant barricaded himself inside his car in Hagatna causing a tense standoff with multiple officers with their weapons drawn.
Special Operations officers eventually broke the window and took him into custody.
During a search, police found a glass pipe with meth.
