Upi Elementary and Benavente Middle School are the latest campuses to be inspected by Public Health.

Education leaders seemed optimistic during the Guam Department of Education briefing today but were not ready to confirm just yet if students at those campuses are good to go for in-person learning.

“I’m smiling, the superintendent is smiling so that should give you an indication. But because we have not seen the final reports we are not able to specifically say that they will be opening. They will be opening. But the earliest they might be opening is on Monday,” said Angel Sablan, Vice-Chairman of the Guam Education Board.

GDOE has four more campuses that need inspection including Chief Brodie and Southern High School.

The goal is to still get all students back into the classroom by the end of this month.

Meantime, the GDOE also had a moment of silence during the briefing for the victim in today's school shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

The shooting carried out by a 14-year-old claimed the life of four others including two students.
