Police investigate serious crash that claimed life of 22-year-old

A 22-year-old man is dead after a serious car crash overnight. 

It happened at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday along Route 2A just as you enter the village of Hagat. 

Police said the driver was heading south when he lost control of his car when he ran off the road and hit a guardrail. 

The car flipped on its side. 

Medics with the Guam Fire Department had to pull him from the wreckage. 

Unfortunately, he did not survive. 

Guam police were at the crash scene today investigating to determine if speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash. 

The driver's name has not yet been released. 

This marks the 10th traffic-related death on Guam this year.
