Man found carrying nearly 12 grams of meth and weapons

Found sleeping in his Toyota Camry, one man is found with nearly 12 grams of meth and an unregistered gun.  

Twenty-year-old Zion Gene Quitugua is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance for illegal delivery as a first-degree felony, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm without an identification card as third-degree felonies. 

These charges have a notice of commission of a felony while on felony release. Quitugua is also charged with possession/ownership of an unregistered firearm as a misdemeanor. 

Early Thursday morning, Guam police officers were called to check on a man sleeping in his car outside a Mangilao gas station with weapons in the open. 

Officers observed a silver pocket knife on Quitugua, a wooden rifle in the passenger seat, and a glass pipe in the cupholder. 

After removing the potentially dangerous items, Quitugua was woken up and searched for any more weapons. 

Quitugua was also allegedly found with another glass pipe, nearly $500 in cash, and baggies with suspected methamphetamine equating to 11.99 grams. 

During questioning, Quitugua admitted to buying 12 to 14 grams of meth in exchange for jewelry. 

He allegedly told officers he found the rifle at an unknown area. It was confirmed to be functional and unregistered.
