Lewis Prize for Music founder to visit Guam

Mr. Daniel R. Lewis, founder and chairman of The Lewis Prize for Music, will be on Guam from Oct. 20 to Oct. 24, 2024 to visit Inetnon Gefpa’go’s cultural music and dance programs under the direction of Master of CHamoru Dance Vince Reyes. 

The Inetnon Gefpå'go Cultural Arts Program is the most recent National winner for The Lewis Prize for Music Accelerator Award for 2024. 

As a winner, the organization has received a $500,000 award to strengthen its creative youth development programming on the island and assist youth in reclaiming their cultural identity through music, song, dance and chant.

The Lewis Prize for Music is a music arts organization with a philanthropic effort that recognizes impactful creative youth development programs nationwide through its Accelerator Awards in the amount of $500,000. 

The Lewis Prize for Music’s main focus is empowering young people through music and the arts to envision the future. 

“We are extremely grateful to the Lewis Prize for Music’s support for Inetnon Gefpå’go’s creative youth programs. We look forward to hosting Mr. Lewis and sharing with him the CHamoru culture and famous hospitality that Guam is known for in appreciation of the opportunities he has provided to our island’s youth,” said Inetnon Gefpa’go Board President, Clynt Ridgell.
