J&P Holdings (CNMI), LLC, the parent company of Micronesian Air Cargo Services, wants to invest more than $8 million in a new aviation company to provide interisland transportation throughout the Marianas. J&P Holdings is owned by John and Paula Stewart. The new passenger aviation company is called Micronesian Air Connection Services.

Their application for a qualifying certificate filed with the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority for abatement and rebate of certain CNMI taxes indicates that they plan to provide scheduled passenger flights between Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Guam. A public hearing about their application is scheduled for November 6 at 5 p.m. at Marianas High School.

They hope to offer some CNMI flights in November or early December if their qualifying certificate is issued. Guam to Saipan roundtrip flights could start in early 2025. The company said it would also provide in-house training programs to promote continued aviation safety and internship programs for college students to benefit the community.

According to their business plan, “The venture aims to address current market gaps and capitalize on the recovering tourism industry by offering competitive pricing, frequent schedules, and superior customer service.”

They hope to foster healthy competition as Star Marianas is the only CNMI inter-island airline and United flies between Guam and Saipan.
