Humanities Guåhan is hosting a dynamic series of events to showcase the transformative power of arts and humanities.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will hold a special Open House featuring a zine workshop, local foods, a media corner and more.

This free event will accompany a digital campaign throughout October, offering giveaways and engaging content that reflects our commitment to public programming and engagement with our island community.

NAHM is the largest national celebration of arts and culture in the United States.

Its goals are to promote equitable access to the arts, encourage community participation, and raise public awareness about the critical role the arts and humanities play in our daily lives.

This year's Open House will feature the "Decolonize Your Diet" zine workshop as a central event, inviting participants to create artworks and collages while reflecting on the importance of reclaiming food histories and challenging colonial food systems.

Key activities also include a reading corner to browse Humanities Guåhan’s collection of magazines and publications and a screening room showcasing the organization’s work over the years.

In addition to the in-person activities, Humanities Guåhan will run a month-long digital campaign as part of NAHM.

The campaign will include engaging online content, weekly contests, and exciting giveaways in partnership with community organizations and local creators such as Guåhan Sustainable Culture, Guambus, Dudus Girl Guam and Bonita Baby.

Humanities Guåhan invites the communities to join the celebration by attending the Open House and participating in the digital campaign.

NAHM is the perfect time to reflect on the cultural contributions that enrich our communities and engage with the arts in meaningful ways.
