A first time for election officials. A large number of voters decided to show up early to the polls.

"We have 1,438 voters as of 6 o'clock tonight on the fourth day...and we will continue to open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. up until Monday, October 28,” said Guam Election Commission Executive Director Maria Pangelinan.

Early Voting is ongoing as election day inches another day closer.

The GEC meeting at the Early Voting Center Thursday night.

"We cleared all the little glitches on Monday. Kudos to commissioner Benny Pinaula who was here on the first day. For the first time we had 21 voters lining outside before the doors opened,” said Pangelinan.

Pangelinan told the commission homebound and off island voter numbers continue to grow.

"We are now at for homebound 330 that we processed and in office is 809. But I want to point out that off island we are 95 and 160 were sent out,” she said.

Voters clearly are showing up for this midterm election, as the race to watch is between the candidates for Guam delegate.

The GEC expects a smooth election as the new fiscal year gets going.

Pangelinan told the commission their budget was not shortchanged.

"They approved the budget that we asked for. We asked for $2,344,642 and this is the first time they gave us exactly what we asked,” she added.

Commissioner also approved the precinct official list, getting that set for the November 5th general election day.
