There's a new judge of the Superior Court of Guam and he's no stranger to the local courtroom.

An investiture ceremony was held late Monday afternoon at the Judiciary of Guam for Attorney Sean Brown.

Brown was working for the Attorney General's Office when he was tapped by the Chief Justice to take the bench as the next magistrate.

“Thinking about this day and actually experiencing it are two very different things. When I thought about this day, I was full of optimism and excitement and then when everybody's here I'll admit I was a little bit nervous. In my job, I don't get too nervous anymore but it was very special. I appreciate everybody here to support me in this and to help me transition into the next phase of my life. It means a lot to me. I am very humbled by this experience and I will remember this day for the rest of my life, absolutely,” said Brown.

Brown takes over as Magistrate Judge as Magistrate Benjamin Sison's second term ends this month.
