Child to be medically evacuated after near-drowning at Saipan hotel

The CNMI Department of Public Safety told KUAM News that a child remains in critical condition and will be medically evacuated to South Korea on Wednesday after nearly drowning at Kensington Hotel in Saipan on Sunday.

Witnesses who spoke to police that day said that the child, who was on vacation with family, was pulled from the water after being found unconscious by friends. Lifeguards conducted CPR and the child started breathing but remained unconscious.

The child has been receiving care at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation.
