The Guam Memorial Hospital just received a designation as an American College of Radiology Lung Cancer Screening Center, granted by the ACR’s Committee on Computed Tomography Accreditation of the Commission on Quality and Safety.

This recognition highlights GMH’s commitment to high-quality, safe, and effective lung cancer screening for the community.

Achieving this honor required meeting rigorous ACR standards, including implementing the advanced O2 Revolution EVO CT scanner from General Electric, which enhances imaging clarity to detect lung cancer at earlier, more treatable stages.

To maintain this designation, GMHA must adhere to ACR’s stringent guidelines, including continuous CT accreditation, equipment maintenance, and staff updates.

“GMHA is honored to be recognized by the ACR as a Lung Cancer Screening Center. This reputable designation is confirmation that GMHA remains committed to providing quality, state of the art medical care to our people and underscores our new Mission statement, ‘Committed to compassionate, forward-thinking, quality-driven and safe health care that honors the community.’ GMHA continues its unwavering commitment and devotion to the people of Guam ,’” said Lillian Perez-Posadas, GMHA Hospital Administrator.
