Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A man is arrested on drug charges following an early morning traffic stop in Dededo.

Atsushi Robert Kanabuchi, 40, is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Court documents state officers stopped the suspect’s car as he was turning onto Route 16.

Officers noted the driver’s license had been suspended and that the suspect was on probation.

Kanabuchi allegedly admitted to authorities, “I have drugs on me, sir.”

During a search, police found a glass pipe and a baggie with meth.
