A woman who admitted to a scam involving a store in Hagat that had just been robbed, got seven years in federal prison.
Brenda Kinian, who pleaded guilty to interference with commerce by threat or violence and extortion by officers or employees of the U.S., was sentenced in the District Court of Guam this week.
As reported, Kinian lived behind the store when she demanded the store owners pay her $450,000 to keep them safe after the store had been robbed.
The robbery happened back in 2017.
Kinian also convinced the store owners to let her run the business for their safety, then kept the money from the sales.
You may recall, she was also the feds confidential informant in the case against former Yona Mayor Jesse Blas.
On top of the seven years in prison, Kinian will also serve three years’ supervised release.
