Complaint: Man attacks and kidnaps woman known to him

A man is under arrest accused of attacking and holding a woman known to him against her will for days.

Thirty-seven-year-old Jonathan Borja is charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault, along with a special allegation of possession and use of a deadly weapon.

Court documents state Borja allegedly attacked the victim after questioning her about other men who would visit her, adding he had friends spying on her.

Borja allegedly tried to attack her with a machete before hitting her several times in the face with a 12-volt battery.

He also allegedly kept her from leaving his home for days until she convinced him she had forgiven him.

That's when she made her escape and was treated at the hospital for her injuries.
