One of the men accused in the killing of Ryan Chaco denied the allegations filed against him in local court.
Defendant Eithen Mendiola pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and aggravated assault, both with a special allegation of possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.
As we reported, Mendiola allegedly told police the victim made unwanted sexual advances toward him before the pair started to fight.
Mendiola allegedly admitted he stabbed Chaco repeatedly in the neck and chest, claiming it was self defense.
Co-defendant Frank Reyes Jr. was indicted on charges of arson, desecration, obstructing government function, and destruction of evidence.
Reyes allegedly tried to burn the evidence setting Chaco's Dededo home on fire.
He is scheduled back in court on Nov. 21 to answer to the charges.
