Invest 94W to pass south of Guam through Monday, Tropical Storm Man-yi to weaken as it approaches Marianas

 The Guam National Weather Service is tracking two storms that will continue to bring more wet weather to the Marianas.

Tropical Disturbance, Invest 94W, is expected to pass south of Guam through Monday, bringing gusty winds and choppy seas that will be hazardous to small craft. A small craft advisory is in effect through 5 pm, Monday.

Officials said inexperienced mariners, especially those with smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.

Meteorologists are also tracking Tropical Storm Man-yi.

 

 By midday Sunday, the storm was located 745 miles east-northeast of Guam and 660 miles east of Saipan.

Man-yi is moving west-northwest and has allowed to 6 mph.

The storm is expected to make a slight turn toward the west with a slight increase in forward speed through Monday as it approaches the Marianas.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 50 mph with tropical storm force winds extending outward from the center up to 70 miles.

Man-yi is forecast to intensify through tonight, with a potential weakening trend starting Monday.
