Rota spent day preparing for storm

Just like Guam, the island of rota is also gearing up for the brunt of Tropical Storm Man-Yi.

Mayor Aubry Hocog has been attending safety meetings with the proper authorities to ensure the residents are prepared ahead of the storm's closest point of approach.

"I have directed all my RD's and acting RD's to secure their repsective facilities. I will be meeting with DPS respectively. Our public information office team are already preparing announcements that will be released through social media. Our team will also be doing audio announcements to inform our residents and farmers and people who live in outskirts of the upcoming tropical storm. And so we are going to prepare as best as we can," said the mayor.

Tropical Storm III was declared for Rota around noon today.
