Guam and the CNMI were spared any major devastation from Tropical Storm Man-yi.

The storm’s closest point of approach was around 5 am when it was located about 45 miles south of Guam.

Man-yi was initially projected to pass through the Rota channel but it tracked further south of the Marianas.

Acting Gov. Josh Tenorio anticipates returning to Condition of Readiness (COR) 4 by noon today, with GovGuam to return to work by 1 pm. Officials said the only deviation from this plan would be a drastic change in Man-yi’s trajectory.

A final announcement will be made by 11 am.

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam and Rota and a Coastal Flood Advisory and Rip Current Statement remains in effect.

As of 8 a.m. ChST, Tropical Storm Man-Yi was located 50 miles southwest of Guam, moving southwest at 18 mph with sustained winds at 50mph and expected to intensify through Thursday, possibly becoming a Typhoon north of Yap.
