Now to a public notice from the Guam Customs and Quarantine agency.

Authorities alerted to phishing attempts and apparent scam content circulating on social media.

Scammers created what appears to be a fraudulent “tax compliance certificate” bearing the Guam seal and titled “Guam Custom Agency” with a forged signature of the Governor requiring victims to pay significant sums in taxes and fees before they can receive a prize.

Also circulating is a notice labeled, “declaration of cash negotiable instrument of over USD $10,000 or equivalent.”

The public is highly encouraged to avoid interacting with and providing personal information to scammers who may call or send messages.

Anyone with related concerns are asked to report it to the Office of the Attorney General at (671) 475-2705.
