A new direct route is opening up ahead of the summer.

United Airlines, in partnership with the Guam Visitors Bureau, announced today the new service between Taipei, Taiwan, and Guam.

It's set to launch on April 2nd of next year.

The new twice-weekly nonstop service will be scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing Guam at 7 am. The return flight from Taipei will arrive in Guam at 4:50 pm.

Guam travelers will not need a visa to travel to Taipei.

United will operate the flights with a Boeing 737 with 166 seats, 16 of which are in business class.

United Managing Director of Airport Operations Sam Shinohara said, “The new Taipei-Guam route expands an exciting new destination for Guam’s tourism industry and provides more direct connections to Asia for Guam’s residents.”

Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio added this is good for tourism, business, and healthcare. Not to mention travel convenience for our Taiwanese and Guamanian population.
