Man arrested in violent store attack

A violent incident at a local grocery store lands one man in prison.

Thirty-two-year-old Nakota Valentine is charged with aggravated assault along with a special allegation of deadly weapon used in commission of a felony.

Court documents state Valentine chased the victim into a store in Dededo.

Valentine allegedly attacked the victim with the bat and punched him repeatedly before leaving.

Valentine allegedly told police he believed the victim was trying to burglarize a relatives apartment, adding he was trying to 'get justice' for them.

The victim, who told police he was only there to hang out with another relative, was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
