Residents in Yigo will notice a large presence of police and emergency response personnel, as authorities will be conducting a training exercise.

The training includes officers with the Guam Police Department with the assistance of Andersen Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal personnel.

The exercise will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. near Juan Jacinto street and Simon Sanchez High School in Yigo.

GPD spokesperson officer Berlyn Savella advised the public to be aware that this is only a training exercise, and there is no cause for alarm.

Sanchez high is currently unoccupied, as students and staff are currently in double session at John F. Kennedy High School in Tamuning.

Savella adds the building is being used solely for training purposes.

The EOD team is involved to ensure the safety and preparedness of GPD officers and emergency responders.
