An emotional moment in the nation's capital as longtime CNMI Congressman Gregorio Kilili Sablan packs up.
He posted a video on his Instagram page taking down the image of a framed CNMI flag.
He wrote, “Today, we close up our physical office in Washington, D.C.," adding, “Your congressional office in Luta, Tinian, and Saipan will be opened until Dec. 13 to serve you.”
Sablan entered office in 2009 as the first delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives from the Northern Mariana Islands.
He announced that his 8th term would be his last after working for the people for 16 years in the nation’s capital.
Kimberlyn King-Hinds will be sworn in as CNMI Delegate in January.
