A woman who was walking along a dark area of Route 4 in Chalan Pago is rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car early Tuesday.

It happened just after midnight near the Pago Bay Bridge.

The pedestrian was rushed to the Guam Regional Medical City to be treated for her injuries.

She was responsive at the scene, according to Guam Fire Department spokesperson Lt. Nick Garrido.

Her condition has not yet been released.

Details about the driver involved in the crash have not been made public.

The crash forced officers with the Guam Police Department’s Highway Patrol Division to close northbound lanes for several hours during their investigation.

There was debris scattered along the road and at a spot police designated as the area of impact.

A Nissan Xterra was also parked at the scene.

Roads were cleared at 7:15 am.

The crash remains under investigation.
