The University of Guam's Board of Regents has elected Lesley Anne Leon Guerrero as its new chairperson.
Leon Guerrero, who has served on the board since 2019, brings extensive experience as Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer at the Bank of Guam.
Leon Guerrero steps into the role as the university continues its mission of education, innovation, and community engagement under its five-year strategic plan, Tulos Mo’na: Propelling Forward Together.
Outgoing Chairperson Sandra McKeever, whose term ends in January, is being recognized for her leadership during challenging times, including budget shortfalls and a presidential transition.
Leon Guerrero expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating her commitment to advocating for resources that will benefit students and the island community.
Joining her on the executive board are Agapito "Pete" Diaz as Vice Chair and Mike W. Naholowaa, continuing as treasurer.
The next Board of Regents meeting is scheduled for Dec. 12 as UOG continues to focus on building a strong foundation for the island’s future.
