Taiwan President arrives on Guam
President of Taiwan Lai Ching-Te just landed in Guam on a private jet at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport.
Lai will be meeting with government leaders and the local Taiwanese community on Thursday.
The president is on a weeklong tour to diplomatic allies in the Pacific to promote smart sustainability, democracy and strengthen diplomatic ties.
The tour kicked off with a two-day layover in Hawaii that drew the ire of Beijing. Lai then visited the Marshall Islands and Tuvalu before making his way to Guam.
He is expected to wrap up his Pacific tour in Palau.
