Seven Chinese nationals caught illegally entering Guam’s shores
Five men and two women who are citizens from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) were caught trying to illegally enter onto Guam’s shores by boat this week.
The group traveled to Guam from Saipan.
Guam Customs officers with the Maritime Contraband Enforcement Team first got the call at 4:45 pm Tuesday.
Authorities said a woman had illegally entered military property in Dededo learning she was dropped off by boat and had a warrant out for her arrest.
Federal authorities took her into custody.
During the investigation, officers learned another woman and a man was in distress on the reef outside the Haputo Beach area.
The pair reportedly arrived on the same boat.
Each were treated by medical responders and taken into custody.
Investigators got a similar call at 9 am Wednesday.
Four Chinese nationals were spotted in the Tanguisson Beach area after they also tried to illegal enter the island by boat.
The group was taken into federal custody.
Authorities have not released their names.
Since 2022, Guam Customs responded to a total of 152 individuals from the PRC who violated Guam entry laws.
Authorities continue to ask the community be vigilant and keep watch for individuals suspected to have made illegal entry to the island or who may be involved in smuggling activities.
