Thirty-two children enjoy United Airlines Fantasy Flight on 10th anniversary
Dozens of children and family members buckled up for an unforgettable flight from Guam to the ‘North Pole.’
United Airlines’s annual Fantasy Flight took off Friday at the AB Won Pat International Airport.
Volunteers came together to make this a Christmas dream come true for 32 children with Make-A-Wish Foundation, CL Taitano and JQ San Miguel Elementary Schools.
Santa’s elves even made a surprise appearance on the tarmac to wish them safe travels.
“You know the North Pole is really far away but we’re going to use some Christmas magic on this one and get there in 15 to 20 minutes,” said Capt. Adam Eardley.
About half an hour later, the children were met with a joyous welcome at the Tiyan Maintenance Hangar, transformed by volunteers into a winter wonderland.
Among the crowd were the Super American Circus and Pacific Islands Club’s Siheky and Sandy.
It’s a 34-year tradition at major hubs around the globe and the 10th anniversary locally.
Capt. Adam Eardley, who has been a pilot with United for 11 years, shared his excitement to celebrate by flying his first Fantasy Flight with Guam.
“I am just so proud of what they do with Fantasy Flight with United Guam. It’s absolutely incredible. All the volunteers that have put this together, it’s such an amazing experience for the kids. I’m just really proud to be a part of it,” said Eardley.
A special holiday show, gift giving, and a greeting from Santa wrapping up the magical experience these children will surely remember.
