Guam Senator Jesse Lujan applauds Guam Delegate James Moylan for his leadership in securing a groundbreaking provision in the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act.

The amendment requires a comprehensive investigation into the use of Agent Orange on Guam, addressing decades of unanswered questions about civilian exposure to the hazardous herbicide.

“The Congressman’s efforts reflect a deep commitment to the health and well-being of our people and to correcting historical injustices. This is a significant step forward,” said Sen. Lujan.

In the 37th Guam Legislature, Lujan introduced a resolution calling for federal recognition of Agent Orange’s use and effects on Guam, amplifying the voices of local residents and veterans.

The provision in the NDAA reinforces Guam’s shared commitment to accountability and relief for those impacted by toxic exposure.

The study, due by Dec.  31, 2025, will include dates, locations, and the effects of Agent Orange on Guam, paving the way for expanded healthcare and disability benefits for veterans and civilians.
